We have a long-standing relationship with training provider PMI, a constituent of Adcorp Holdings. To date, PMI has entrusted Intelesi with developing nine qualifications for SETA accreditation across a range of subjects including: Management; Labour Recruitment Services; Project Management; Customer Management; Wholesale and Retail Operations; IT; and Stores and Warehousing. All nine qualifications were completed in just nine months.
We also provide facilitation services for PMI, and have been involved in the delivery of the Adcorp Leadership Academy and Grindrod GOLD Graduate programmes.
Gauteng Department of Education
The School Improvement Programme (SIP) toolkit targeted School Management Teams. We created booklets, cards, posters and a diagnostic tool to assist schools to systematically improve their performance. As part of this project we provided train the trainer services to ensure engaging delivery of the toolkit to School Management Teams. The Gauteng Department of Education received the 2014 United Nations Public Service Award for this Secondary School Intervention Programme.
LSEN (Learners with Special Educational Needs)
We designed a toolkit for School Management Teams and districts on how to lead and manage full service or special schools. The development required consultation with a range of stakeholders and covers a range of topics from creating a context for effective learning through to curriculum implementation and monitoring.
National School of Government
We developed the innovative Mentoring Skills for Supervisors Programme (MSS) for public servants. This blended learning programme combines online reading and tasks as well as process driven Peer Learning Exchanges which focus on problem solving discussions and responses to projective techniques. The MSS is supported by the Support for the Transfer of Learning Programme, where a series of reminders related to workplace tasks are automatically generated.
Another important programme developed by Intelesi for the National School of Government (NSG) (formerly Palama) is the Compulsory Induction Programme (CIP) for newly appointed public servants on post levels 13-14. This programme has a powerful emphasis on values, accountability and service delivery within a strong skills base.
The Mine Health and Safety Council (MHSC)
The Mine Health and Safety Council (MHSC) commissioned a research project into sexual harassment in the mines. Intelesi designed the research protocol and process, oversaw the focus group research and then analysed the results. The research report generated fascinating results that indicated the endemic, secretive nature of sexual harassment in the mines. We also scripted and produced a DVD which is being distributed to mines throughout the country.
New Leaders Foundation (NPO)
We worked closely with New Leaders Foundation (NPO), to gather their ideas on building the capacity of school district officials. This resulted in a coherent and comprehensive NQF7 accredited short course offered through the University of the Free State. This process driven, developmental and performance management programme is based on a strong internal coaching and support model.
We partnered with The Guild to develop SMME Guidelines for the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. As material developers on the project, we worked with industry experts to develop a comprehensive, easy to understand toolkit that covered all aspects of starting a business as well as industry specific requirements of the forestry sector.
Our long-standing relationship with Noah (NPO) led to the development of customised learning material aimed at building capacity within associated Community Based Organisations. These child protection organisations, through Noah’s supportive mentoring and skills programmes, delivered services to orphans and vulnerable children in KwaZulu Natal, Gauteng and North West Province.
